2G Studios’s Seamless Workflow : An Artistic Collaboration

Discover how 2G Studio harnesses specialization, collaboration, and a uniform SOP to create a seamless workflow. Explore the role of the leading artist, project manager, and the power of versatility in delivering unparalleled artistic quality.

In the Architectural Visualization industry, production time is a key factor to providing the best service to our client. To do so, every studio has their own personalized and custom workflows. Work flows vary from studio to studio, generally Studios from abroad tasks each artist with one project for them to work on from start to finish.

pohutukawa residence, stream lined workflow

Pohutukawa Residence is like, all our projects a result of collaboration in 2G Studio.

In 2G Studio, we have a different approach to tackling our projects. Our workflow consists of tasking our artists who are specialists of their parts of their project, each specialist playing their own role in production. We have artists working on their own parts of the project, such as modeling specialist, texturing specialist, planting specialist, lighting, and so on.

Frankly speaking, every “specialist” is also capable of doing other tasks. But by dividing tasks among specialized professionals, we unlock the potential for multiple projects to be tackled simultaneously, ensuring efficiency and productivity. Our team is led by a visionary artist who oversees the creative direction and serves as the guiding light for the project. Let’s dive deeper shall we?

The Power of Specialization

In 2G Studio, we believe in the strength of individual talents, where each artist possesses a specific area of expertise, whether it be modeling, texturing, arranging planting, or lighting. By dividing tasks among specialized professionals, we unlock the potential for multiple projects to be tackled simultaneously, hence creating our seamless workflow; ensuring efficiency and productivity. Our team is led by a lead artist who oversees the creative direction and serves as the guiding light for the project.

The Leading Artist's Role

At the helm of our creative endeavors, the leading artist assumes the crucial responsibility of the final check and infusing each project with maximum quality. By relieving them of other tasks such as modeling and texturing, we grant them the freedom to immerse themselves in boundless creative thinking. This undivided focus allows our leading artist to breathe life into our projects while keeping an eye on the larger picture and ensuring the highest standard of artistry.

Collaborative Efforts

We believe that collaboration is key. While each artist possesses their own specialized skill set, we cherish the spirit of versatility. Our artists are not confined to a single job desk but rather possess a range of skills that enable them to seamlessly switch roles when necessary. This flexibility not only enhances efficiency but also nurtures a sense of shared responsibility and empowers our team to adapt and excel in any situation.

The Project Manager's Role

Ensuring a smooth production process is paramount to the success of our studio. Enter the project manager, a vital figure who orchestrates the flow of information and ensures that all necessary data is readily available before a project commences. This meticulous planning minimizes interruptions and allows our artists to delve into their work without hindrance. With a project manager at the helm, we ensure a seamless workflow and set the stage for artistic brilliance.

Custom uniform SOP: Streamlined Workflow

seamless workflow

Our uniform SOP and collaboration based workflow allows us to create renders like this, Tamora residence rendered by 2G Studio.

To further streamline our operations, we have crafted our own Standard Operating Procedure (SOP). This uniform SOP is comprehended by all members of our studio, fostering a sense of cohesion and understanding. In the face of unforeseen circumstances, such as an artist falling ill, our SOP serves as a guiding light, enabling a smooth transition for another artist to seamlessly step in without confusion or delay. Our SOP is the backbone of our seamless workflow, reinforcing our commitment to delivering excellence.

Conclusion:

We believe that tackling each project together , with each artist playing their own roles, we are able to produce our desired outcome and provide the best service we can to our clients. Be it getting the project done on time, the sheer numbers of people working on each project allows us to produce more and faster. As the saying goes, “ If you wanna go fast, go alone. But if you wanna go far, go together.”

We create unique CG animation for this 3D award by CG Architect. It was inspired by pandemic Covid 19 that happen in 2020. Which lockdown everywhere, people can’t catch up with each other, and it suddenly happens, we know it’s hard for everyone, but we believe that we can through this together.

Please Enjoy this CG Animation that we submit for the 3d Award, it’s architectural animation, combined with movie effect with some stories inside.

Architectural Movies - One Day - Submission for CG Architect 3D Award - Animation Categories

In non-commissioned architectural CGI, we submit one of the best images we create on the Pressure Challenge that we do internally in 2G studio. This project called Born Neo, which means New Born, is designed as a new face of the architecture concept of City Hall in the new capital city of Indonesia, located in Kalimantan Island.

Architectural CGI of Borneo - Nominated in CG Architect 3D Award

Many top 3d architectural rendering companies and 3d artists are a part of this competition, and somehow our Borneo CGI got nominated in the non-commissioned categories. The design was inspired by Zaha Hadid Architect’s design and the rendering style inspired by our friend Pedro Fernandes from Arqui9.

Giving Back to the Architectural Visualization Community

Discover how we give back to the architectural visualization community with AVIS.ID and 2G Academy. Unlock the potential of Indonesian 3D artists, providing them with essential skills and opportunities to grow their businesses. Experience the power of collaboration and support in nurturing a thriving ecosystem for architectural visualization.

Why we start the movement?

We believe that Indonesian 3D artists have good artistic skills because Indonesia has a strong culture and arts. Still, most of them didn’t get any exposure and didn’t get any chance to show their talent to the world through Architecture 3D Visualization.

2G Studio was born from an Indonesian Architecture Visualization Community called IDVN, a place where Indonesian artists share their knowledge in the 3D architectural visualization industry, learn together, grow together, and help each other.

AVIS.ID and 2G Academy

We decide to create a new community for 3D visualizers or 3D artists in Indonesia called Architecture Visualization Indonesia, or we can spell it AVIS.ID. This community is a part of our movement to help Indonesian 3D artists to learn 3D Rendering skills and grow their business in the Architectural Visualization Industry. We also bring back our 2G Academy as an educational platform to learn the technique based on our experience in 3d visualization industry for more than ten years. We are continuously providing content, blogs, vlogs, tutorials, and creating many events like online portfolio review, business and mindset talk, and Architalk to help them grow in terms of skills and mindset to help them grow in this architectural visualization industry.

Why we need an Architectural Visualization Community?

We believe that a positive environment can help people learn and grow three times faster because they can help each other when they encounter an obstacle. Motivate each other and inspires others so this community will grow stronger and becomes like family. And the most important thing is we have a place called HOME.

Road Show on 5 Big Cities in Indonesia

We are creating a unique workshop program to create professional interior renderings with corona render. This event was held in 5 Big Cities, Bali, Jakarta, Bandung, Yogyakarta, and Surabaya, right before Covid 19 virus spreading in Indonesia. We are fortunate that we can meet in person and share our knowledge on offline events.

What did we do during the pandemic Covid-19?

The covid-19 virus hit us starting around March 2020. Many projects become on hold, and business suddenly stopped. We decided to create something for our architectural visualization community to use this lockdown time to learn something new and get ready after the new normal start. We create tutorials to create professional 3D Interior Rendering and put these tutorials on our youtube channel. It’s totally free, and everyone can have access to learn from our knowledge. Of course, it’s using the Indonesian language because our movement is for the Indonesian 3D Artist.

Besides that, we also do some free portfolio online reviews and business and mindset talks every week to keep in touch with each other, learn something new, share our knowledge, and hold hands together to get through this pandemic.
